Mental Health Peer Support Groups

Creating community peer support opportunities is a vital aspect of our work as mental health advocates. Having a space to gather as a community and benefit from a supportive environment is crucial as we navigate the challenges and transitions of life.

Perinatal Mental Health Peer Support Group

FCC is happy to join forces with Women on the Rise, a nonprofit organization based in NDG that offers programs and services to women and their families (https://www.womenontherise.ca/) and provide much needed perinatal mental health support to mothers experiencing challenges in the perinatal year (pregnancy, birth & postpartum, children 0 - 5yrs). Les groupes sont gratuits et bilingues/Transportation tickets offered, childcare on site.

Perinatal Loss Circle

We are happy to offer this space every Tuesday evening from October 15th-December 10th, 6:30 - 8:30pm. This is a peer support group led by Laura Aguilar and Millie Tresierra, both experienced facilitators, and will be structured around sharing our stories, exploring further with 2 prompts/session, and a closing prompt to carry us into the week and allow us to continue to explore different aspects of this complex journey. Email info@familycarecollective.org for information and to confirm attendance.

Stronger Together

Peer support group in collaboration with Women on the Rise in English, french and spanish, for women who have experienced intimate partner violence. Monday evenings, location disclosed by email only.

Groups are free. Transportation tickets offered, childcare on site.

As part of the Community Healing Days Perinatal & Menstrual/ Reproductive clinics, we are offering a support group for mamas at Studio 414, 10 Pine West, from 9:30 to 11am, followed by a menstrual charting circle to learn more about our reproductive health, tracking our cycles, and what that means for our overall health.
